Pancratium maritimum
Sea lily
Amarillidaceae
It was once quite a common south Mediterranean wild flower but now, without any protection for long time , it is going to be always more rare.
It is a stunning bulbous herbaceous plant which grows on the sand dunes on the cost side, from June to September. The white flowers are intensely scented.
Its decorative leaves appear in spring, while the flower blooms in full summer and keeps bloom even after the yellowed leaves fade away.
